First Aid Practices Explained Through Theater Performances
Aksaray University (ASU) Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ayhan Özçifçi emphasized that first aid is of vital importance and that every individual should have an adequate level of knowledge on this subject.
Speaking at the opening of the program titled "You Too Can Save a Life," organized by the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Özçifçi noted that many events catering to various interests are held on campus. Drawing attention to the importance of first aid practices that can be performed in the event of accidents and sudden illnesses—until professional medical help arrives—Özçifçi stated, “Our aim is to inform our students about this topic, raise awareness about first aid training, and contribute to increasing the number of first aid volunteers.” Following a speech by Prof. Dr. İbrahim Örün, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, about the overall scope of the program, mini theater performances were staged on four specific topics, and experts gave presentations on the key points emphasized in the performances. The program covered the topics "Earthquakes and What to Do During an Earthquake," "Traffic Accidents and the Correct Approach in Accidents," "Correct Interventions in Drowning Can Save Lives," and "Proper Practices During a Heart Attack."
At the end of the event, certificates were presented to those who contributed to the organization of the program.
